SIIA National Conference 2025
October 12 – 14 in Phenoix, Arizona
The SIIA 2025 National Conference, held from October 12–14 at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix, was a powerful convergence of industry focus and momentum.
Booth 715 served as the MDI NetworX hub for direct, hands-on conversations. The key themes were practical innovation, real-time visibility, and integrated workflows designed to keep Claims, QA, Enrollment, and Contact Center teams moving in sync. Quick platform walkthroughs and an engaging giveaway of five Ray-Ban Meta glasses kept energy high
Establishing Measurable AI Objectives
One of the conference’s standout moments was the panel discussion, “Establishing AI Objectives for Self-Insurance Industry Companies,” featuring Clay Wilemon (4L Data Intelligence), Simon Boehme (BillingNav), Will Israel (Zelis), and Paul Wann (Personify Health).
The session centered on a crucial sequence: define clear business priorities first, then measure every AI initiative against tangible outcomes. This disciplined, results-oriented approach to AI set the tone for much of the week’s discussions.
Leadership Dialogues with Purpose
Throughout the event, our leadership team — Tilak Sharma, Peggy Smith, and Partha Bose engaged in high-impact leadership meetings centered on operational execution and future strategies.
We met with Sarah Hancock and Suzanne Miller from PAI to discuss evolving payer priorities and collaborative strategies for strengthening TPA operations
We connected with Jon Peiffer from ACI to explore innovation and operational excellence, and with Steve Urban from ACI to discuss client partnerships and the future of TPA models.
Peggy Smith also connected with Chris Moyer and Julie Corpe from ASR to exchange insights on how innovation supports consistent client service and stronger outcomes.
Tilak Sharma connected with B. Michael Ferweda of Gateway Health Partners to share perspectives on collaboration and long-term focus.
Peggy Smith and Partha Bose also met Eric Browne of Navigate to examine how TPAs are adapting to shifting priorities and operational demands.
A focused discussion with Steve Suter of Macro Health, a valued member of the MDI NetworX Board of Advisors, further explored the need for cleaner data flows and disciplined execution.
The Platform Challenge
A single line captured the spirit of our booth:
“If the elevator brought you here, let the platform take you further.”
This resonated strongly with visitors who were looking for clarity and consistency — specifically, how to ensure work is distributed, audited, and resolved reliably. Attendees consistently sought ways to identify and address operational issues early, rather than reconciling them after the fact.
Closing the Week
The week concluded with a collaborative dinner at Mastro’s Ocean Club, joined by industry leaders and partners, including George Stiles, Sarah Hancock, Suzanne Miller, Jon Peiffer, Richard Fu, Henri Cournand, Steve Suter, Bernie O’Connor, and BJ Boyle, alongside Tilak, Peggy, and Partha. The conversations were forward-looking and reflected the shared commitment to advancing the TPA industry.
As proud sponsors of SIIA 2025, MDI NetworX’s aim in Phoenix was straightforward: keep the focus on strategic priorities, align around high-value work, and accelerate the move from discussion to action.
