WLT Client Conference 2025

September 8 – 11
Clearwater Beach, FL

The 2025 WLT Client Conference in Clearwater Beach brought together leaders, innovators, and decision-makers from across the industry for a week of collaboration and forward-looking dialogue. At the MDI Lounge, we had the privilege of exchanging perspectives, building new connections, and engaging in conversations that looked ahead to the future of the TPA community.

Key Voices and Perspectives

One of the most engaging sessions of the week was the panel on “Innovative TPA Strategies for Growth, Profitability, and Client Retention.” Kirti Mutatkar, President and CEO of UnitedAg, joined fellow industry leaders to share how TPAs can strengthen client relationships, unlock profitability, and scale growth through targeted innovation. The discussion moved beyond theory, offering a grounded look at what it takes to turn strategy into action, blending operational efficiency with client-centric design.

Beyond the Sessions

The week wasn’t just about what happened in the sessions. Clearwater Beach gave us the chance to slow down and connect, sharing conversations, laughter, and even a cigar or two with peers like Garrick Hunt, Megan Smith, and Eric Browne. It was a good reminder that some of the best parts of a conference happen away from the stage, where real relationships are built and ideas flow more freely.

That same energy carried into countless discussions as Tilak Sharma, Peggy Smith, and Partha Bose connected with Kim Budde from Varipro to talk about how TPAs are approaching change and refining strategies. Another highlight was Tilak Sharma catching up with Ryan Van Etten of WLT Software Enterprises, Inc., a dialogue full of ideas and an exchange of insights that reflected the collaborative spirit of the conference.

Themes That Emerged

Across the event, a few clear priorities came into focus:

  • Operational focus is intensifying. TPAs want clarity in workflows, not added complexity.
  • Innovation is moving from talk to action. Leaders are prioritizing initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Client retention is shaping strategy. Growth and profitability are increasingly tied to service excellence.

These themes echo what we see across payer operations organizations are ready to embrace practical, scalable solutions that drive impact without creating disruption.

Every interaction reinforced what drives us: simplifying complexity, improving accuracy, and aligning innovation with the realities of day-to-day operations. What we heard at WLT validated the direction we’re on and sharpened our perspective on the opportunities ahead.

Looking Ahead

The 2025 WLT Client Conference made one thing clear: TPAs are no longer just talking about transformation; they are putting strategies into practice. For MDI NetworX, the takeaways from these discussions are already shaping how we refine our strategy, strengthen our platforms, and deliver solutions that reduce complexity while improving control.

Thank you to everyone who spent time with us. And for those we didn’t get to meet, the conversation doesn’t end here. If you’d like to continue the dialogue on how TPAs can drive measurable outcomes, our team would be glad to connect.
